Mechanical properties

The following table gives the mechanical properties of a number quenched and tempered steels as an extract from the corresponding standard (Quenched Tempered Steels Mechanical properties)

• R_e: upper yield strength or, if there is no marked yield strength, 0,2% proof stress R_{p0, 2}.
• Elongation at fracture: initial length L₀=(S₀=original cross section).
• Valid for diameters up to 63mm or for thickness up to 35mm.
