The KI Global Master’s Scholarship only covers the tuition fee for students enrolled at a Global Master’s Programme at Karolinska Institutet.

How do you apply?

The application for the KI Global Master’s Scholarship is a separate process from the programme application. An application link will be published on this page when the scholarship application period opens. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection process

The selection of scholarship awardees is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s CV form and supporting documentation submitted via University Admissions. The assessment is conducted by the academic staff of each global master’s programme.

The evaluation criteria that are considered during the selection process are previous education, work experience, research experience, statement of intent and overall assessment. Some programmes may include additional criteria specific to their field of study in the CV form.

Selection Principles

  • The student with the highest merit value within each programme will be offered the scholarship.
  • If two or more applicants have the same merit value, a random selection (lottery) will be used to determine the scholarship recipient.
  • If a scholarship recipient declines their offer in a given year, two scholarships will be awarded for that programme in the following year, instead of one.

Notification process

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application via email. The scholarship recipients will receive an email with an acceptance form. To confirm the scholarship, recipients must accept the offer before the deadline provided in the acceptance form.

Applicants who are not selected will receive an email informing them of the outcome. This email will include a link to an evaluation form, where applicants can provide feedback on the scholarship application process.
