Students can only apply for this scholarship before commencing a programme. Applicants to distance education at BTH are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
How to apply
1. Make your programme application at www.universityadmissions.se by January 15. You have to choose BTH as your first choice.
All students who have applied for a BTH masterprogramme on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email will be sent out in the beginning of February.
2. Follow the instructions sent in the e-mail about how to apply for this Scholarship. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder.
The deadline for the application will be written in the email sent. Remember that it is important to fully complete your application on www.universityadmissions.se and to submit the application form in order to qualify for our scholarship. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
BTH’s decision to award scholarships is primarily be based on the students’ academic merits, no consideration will be taken to work experience or student’s financial situation.
Applicants are first ranked within each study programme. In the next step, scholarship recipients are selected considering this ranking and the number of eligible scholarship applicants each study programme has. Thus, study programmes with a larger number of eligible applicants will obtain more scholarships than programmes with fewer applicants.
Students who are not offered a scholarship will not be notified individually. If you receive an invoice with the full tuition fee amount, you have not been awarded a scholarship.
BTH will notify the recipients of scholarships by email after the first Notification of Selection Results in the middle of March.
Recipients will receive a Scholarship nomination letter and an invoice with the deducted scholarship amount. The scholarship must be accepted or declined by the deadline stated in the nomination letter.

Dalarna University Scholarships
Dalarna University scholarship programme for prospective students
Our scholarships go directly towards a reduction in your tuition fees and will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees. The amount that you are awarded is automatically deducted in set amounts each semester over the duration of your programme.
How to apply
Tuition fee waivers are only available for studying a Master’s degree programme which is offered on-campus. You only need to apply once for your scholarship and you do this before the start of your programme.
- The deadline to apply for a scholarship for studies that commence in the spring 2025 semester is October 1st.
- Applications for scholarships for the autumn 2025 semester will open on January 1st.
Application Process
A complete scholarship application has three parts:
- The online scholarship application (the application link is only active during the application period).
- A CV/résumé (uploaded to your University Admissions account)
- A video where you explain why you should receive a scholarship
In the video (no more than 60 seconds long), you need to explain why you should be awarded a scholarship from Dalarna University. You will need to upload this video to a website or cloud storage so that it can be viewed by the scholarship committee: include the link to the video in your scholarship application where indicated. We must be able to view the video using only the link provided.
Do not e-mail the video or send any documents directly to Dalarna University. All documents can be uploaded before or during the scholarship application period, which is seperate from the application period for Master Degree studies at UniversityAdmissions.se
You can use any device (laptop, phone, etc) to create this video. We recommend that you find a quite place with good lighting and that you practice what you want to say before recording the video.
You need to ensure you complete the online application form and upload the above documents by the final dates stated above (i.e., September 30 or March 1, depending on the semester). If you do not submit all documents by the final date, then your application will be considered incomplete and will not be processed.
Make your programme application at www.universityadmissions.se
The Marketing and Communication Office, together with Programme Directors, will review your scholarship application and decide whether or not you will receive a scholarship.
In our selection process, we focus on your previous academic success, relevant work experience and motivational statement. We give priority to applicants who list Dalarna University as their first choice on universityadmissions.se and who are admitted in the first application round. If you are awarded a scholarship you must complete at least 20 credits in your programme of study each semester in order to continue to be eligible for the scholarship.
Note that there is no age limit for applicants to our partial scholarships and that they are open to fee-paying students only.
We make our decision on who will receive a partial scholarship by these dates:
Decision date for spring semester: November 1
Decision date for autumn semester: April 15
Please note that the decision date may change (by a week or so) depending on the number of applicants. You may contact us to enquire about the status of your scholarship award after the decision dates: study@du.se.
